LETTER FROM THE ASSOCIATION OF UKRAINIANS IN VICTORIA
The Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations has called on all Ukrainians and Ukrainian Organisations to write to the editor of the Canberra Times who allowed this so called advertisement by the Russian Embassy to be published, and protest.
The President of the AUV Slawko Kohut has written a letter and received a call from Mr Moloney stating that an apology would be made. Let’s see what happens. read Slawko’s letter here and please also write to the editor:

I am writing to you on behalf of the Association of Ukrainians in Victoria and as an Australian citizen and former member of the Australian Defence Force.
I am truly disgusted that your paper has not only printed, but taken payment for an article promoting Russian propaganda. I refer to your advertisement by the Ambassador of Russia to Australia.
At a time when the International community (including Australia) is openly condemning Russian behaviour in Ukraine, your paper accepts payment for an advertised article that is clearly aimed at spreading Russian propaganda.
However, even if you have no sympathy for the situation in Ukraine, how can you ignore the fact it has been proven and Internationally accepted that Russia provided the weapons and the trained fighters that killed 298 innocent people of which 27 were Australian citizens! And this article denies Russia’s complicity. That is truly unforgivable! Profit above any conscience.
It appears to us that for profit you are willing to become the mouthpiece for Russia and their despicable actions.
I call on you to write and publish a public apology to Ukraine, Ukrainians and all Australians. But if that is too difficult for you, then at least to those affected by the MH17 murder.
