VICTORIA’S LARGEST FREE CELEBRATION OF CULTURAL DIVERSITY
The 41st annual Pako Festa is back this Saturday 25 February and the theme for 2023 is: ‘Sharing and Connecting of Cultures, The Reunion’ with a focus on Cultural Food, Traditional Costumes and Folkloric Dance & Music.
Come and support the Ukrainian community!
Since the beginning of Pako Festa in 1983, the Geelong Ukrainian Community have proudly paraded the street, danced on stage and sold our traditional food to thousands of people attending the popular cultural festival.
On Sat 25th February, Pako Festa is back, and we ask our community to continue our presence and proudly support us at the festival, especially in the year that we have experienced.
You can assist us in one or more of the following:
Participate in the Parade! Meet us at our Ukrainian Hall on Pakington St. Wear your Vyshyvanka or be given a costume at the hall. Do you have a flag or sunflower? Bring it along!
Watch Lehenda Ukrainian Dance School on The Gordon Stage (Albert St) at 2.40pm and wave your flags.
Wear your traditional Ukrainian shirt, bring a flag, buy some verenyky and cheer us on in the parade and on stage! Our food stall will be located near Dizzy Toys between Lawton Ave and Clarence St.
If you are planning to join us in the parade, please meet at the Ukrainian Hall at 10am. The parade starts at 11.
We look forward to seeing you in your Ukrainian colours and Veshyvanyky
