Tennis Australia and the Australian Open are bringing the tennis community together to support humanitarian relief efforts for the war in Ukraine. Tennis Plays for Peace is a global initiative involving tennis’ seven governing bodies, including the four Grand Slam events.

As Ukraine experiences its first winter since the war began, children and their families are now facing plummeting temperatures and harsh winter conditions.

Combined with damaged infrastructure, intense fighting, limited utilities and mounting pressure on the power grid, this winter, children may be deprived from schooling and patients are at risk in hospitals and health facilities.

UNICEF has been on the ground in Ukraine for 25 years. When this devastating war began, we ramped up efforts to deliver aid to children and families whose lives were hanging in the balance. Now, we are working around the clock to provide families with winter kits which contain warm clothes, blankets, winter jackets and other essentials.
