A conference of the Ukrainian Studies Association of Australia and New Zealand in partnership with The University of Melbourne, the Association of Ukrainians in Victoria (Australia) and the Ukrainian Studies Foundation in Australia.

Online, 3-5 February 2022

More than 80 scholars from 16 countries will present papers or act as discussants. The full program, including abstracts of papers and biographies of speakers, may be reached through this link.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Mark Edele, The University of Melbourne: “Soviet History with Ukraine Left In: What difference did Independence make to the writing of Soviet history?”
  • Natalia Khanenko-Friesen, University of Alberta: “Personal Testimony, Ego-Documents and Democratization of History”
  • Ola Hnatiuk, University of Warsaw and Kyiv-Mohyla Academy: “The ‘Archival Revolution’ and Rethinking Ukrainian 20th Century History” 
  • Plus many other informative sessions, panel discussions and roundtables.

There is no registration fee, but persons wishing to attend must register.
